Great Belt
Live vessel traffic through the Great Belt: how many ships are in the lane now, what kind they are, and a timelapse of the last few hours.
The Great Belt runs between the Danish islands of Funen and Zealand, and it is the deepest of the three straits into the Baltic Sea. That depth is the whole point of it: a tanker or bulk carrier too deeply laden for the shallow channels of the Oresund comes this way instead, which makes it the main Baltic approach rather than one of three equal ones. A bridge and a tunnel cross it by way of the islet of Sprogø, and in Danish it is the Storebælt.
