Sunda Strait
Live vessel traffic through the Sunda Strait: how many ships are in the lane now, what kind they are, and a timelapse of the last few hours.
The Sunda Strait runs between Java and Sumatra, joining the Java Sea to the Indian Ocean. It is an alternative to the Malacca route for ships coming from the south, but it is narrow, shallow in places and crossed constantly by ferries working between the two islands, so deeply laden vessels generally go the other way. The volcanic island of Krakatoa stands in the middle of it.
