Lombok Strait

Live vessel traffic through the Lombok Strait: how many ships are in the lane now, what kind they are, and a timelapse of the last few hours.

The Lombok Strait runs between Bali and Lombok, joining the Indian Ocean to the Java Sea and the routes north of it. What it has that the Malacca and Singapore straits do not is depth: a tanker or bulk carrier loaded too deeply for the Malacca draught limit can come this way instead, at the cost of a longer passage. Its currents are strong and set south for much of the year.
